Two Headboards, Fit for a King (size bed)

If anyone is looking for an amazing and unique headboard in king size and has $524.95, I say go for this beauty from Anthropologie.
{or you could buy a t-shirt there for the same price}

After about 0.002 seconds of admiring this gem, my fabric radar went off and I realized that is the same orangey-red/persimmon fabric on the famous and fabulous Asrid chair. This picture of the fabric here on the chair helps to give you a sense of the scale of the headboard. Big and beautiful.

Just please don’t tell me about it if you do end up buying the bed.

Also up for your consideration…this ($749.95 for a king)

Which has a striking resemblance to this. Though definitely not as cool.

  1. I actually like the blue fabric on the anthro knock-off better than the original red embroidered fabric. Don’t hate me.

  2. Ha ha I love your joke about either buying the headboard or a t-shirt. I love Anthro, but there stuff is so pricey. I worked there during my college years for a bit and even with a 40% discount a still couldn’t afford anything.

  3. The second picture with the blue headboard is how my whole house would end up looking if I spend $500 on a headboard. No money left for paint on the walls or any other decor whatsoever.

    Maybe someday.

  4. Mrs. Petrie – I totally agree with your thoughts on using a headboard like this for a kids room. That is actually my plan for our next house!

    Carolyn – I hear you on the $500 is pricey thing. Can you believe that these are more than half off? Furniture is so expensive…

  5. I know you will come up with a way to make one and it will only cost…say….$50! I’ll be waiting for the tutorial. And I love the fabric for the head board featured in cookie magazine the very very most.

  6. Could you possibly do a post on decor that would go with the red headboard? Sheets, wall decor…I love it but the only thing I can think of to go with it is white which might just drive me crazy.

  7. do you have the link to the cookie magazine photo? I would love to see a bigger picture of the bedding she chose to go with the headboard. Thanks! (LOVE your blog!)

  8. Hey Erin,

    Unfortunately, I think that is the full-size picture from Cookie. I’ve never seen anything bigger. I’m sure she used white linens though, with maybe an accent color by way of a band (hotel bedding style) or embroidery. Pottery barn has some great, price-sensitive options for this type of bedding.
    You wouldn’t want to use any pattern on the bed – maybe a ticking stripe at most – so that the beautiful embroidery on the headboard can shine over, not compete with the rest of the bed.

    Hope that helps a little,
