Happy Holidays!

Uncategorized

Christmas snuck up on me in the most major way. Do you feel the same? The girls took on most of the holiday decorating themselves this year (hence the sparse tree with the crooked star), but looking around, I love it all more than anything I could have done if I had had the time. These kids are so, so excited for Evie’s birthday tomorrow and then of course for Christmas. It’s seriously just magical to watch them scurry around the house making preparations. :)

We are doing some last minute shopping this afternoon (wish me luck), a little service project this evening and then tonight I have a whole lot of gingerbread house pieces to make for a little family party we’re having over here tomorrow for Evelyn. We’ve been hosting a lot of visitors the past couple days and truly, there’s nothing like house guests to push me to get projects done. Am I right? I started hanging art in our house this week (some of these are thrift store pieces I just bought for the frame!) and while there’s still a long way to go with decorating projects, suddenly it feels like our house. Perfect timing!

I hope you and yours have a really lovely week. See you in a few days. Merry Christmas!!

  1. Love the white tree and art!

We decided on Saturday to host a NYE party and by 10 pm last night a guest bedroom and bathroom was painted, trim throughout the house was touched up, concrete counters were attempted (2nd coat goes on tonight!) and a kitchen light fixture was fixed. Guests are the best motivation ever!

    Merry Christmas!!

  2. Do you have one of those metal frames that come apart with set-screws (the one with the star art?). I always think that those are the best buy – I can take them all apart and they have the best hardboard in them to put my own art into…Lovely girls and beautiful image of you and your family enjoying your Home. Blessings!

  3. Jenny, lovely room as always! Thanks for another year of providing your readers the most inspiring projects and decorating! Youre such a force! Happy Holidays to you and your family and I wish you an even more fabulous 2014! xo Nancy

  4. I bought a couch for my NYE party because I was so embarrassed by guests basically falling into my current one at a Christmas party. (It has a broken spring.) Ethan Allen, freshly cleaned upholstery. I negotiated to $300, including delivery.

Your tree is lovely, crooked star and all. Have a wonderful Christmas.

  5. Sounds like it's shaping up to be a lovely holiday! I love the photo. Linus has made standard poodle my dream dog ever since you first got him. I would just love to have my own someday!

  6. I remember when Evie was born but I'm unsure how many years it's been. Merry Christmas to the Komenda family and Happy Birthday to Evie.

  7. oh my gosh-laughed so hard when I saw your sideways picture…I have done the same thing, hung it up and waited until the right picture happened…love it!!

  8. What an amazing wall. I've come to look at it a few times now. I wish I could have your vision for an hour to fix my house! You can do no wrong in my book. Merry Christmas Jenny & fam!

  9. happy happy holidays, Jenny! Can't wait to follow your adventures in 2014 … and hopefully create some new ones, too :))) Happy new year!!

  10. Yes! I can clean up my house and transform rooms at lightning speed when I know guests are coming… if guests aren't coming, well then my house is usually a disaster haha. Gorgeous tree! Happy New Year!

  11. This handsome photo of Linus makes me wonder: Do you have any wood floor selection tips for dog owners? We're hoping to buy both wood floors and a puppy this year, but wonder about scratches? Thanks!

  12. Your house seriously belongs in a magazine Stacey! Simple as though it may seem, you added the right amount of decor to make everything Festive and so pretty! Love your tree – so you with all the colors and unique ornaments! your table setting is simple enough for any family with kiddos! I bet Zion is all giddy with excitement!!!!! Have a wonderful Christmas dear. Room Décor
